Athens International Children's Film Festival has chosen the most exciting films to be screened at the "Great Lawn" of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center. Free entrance.

For another year, Park Your Cinema kids will be located at the “Great Lawn” of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, and the Athens International Children’s Film Festival has chosen the films that will accompany our young friends for many Saturdays of the summer. Free entrance.

Saturday 27/05 | 21.00 Great Lawn

Mary Poppins Returns (2018)

The film will be screened dubbed in Greek.

Now an adult with three children, bank teller Michael Banks learns that his house will be repossessed in five days unless he can pay back a loan. His only hope is to find a missing certificate that shows proof of valuable shares that his father left him years earlier. Just as all seems lost, Michael and his sister receive the surprise of a lifetime when Mary Poppins – the beloved nanny from their childhood – arrives to save the day and take the Banks family on a magical, fun-filled adventure.

Young Chickenhare is the adopted son of King Peter, a famous adventurer. Part chicken and part hare, he has a really tough time growing up and disguises himself as a hare to avoid the mockeries of his peers. When the day of the Royal Adventurer Society trials comes, Chickenhare, hampered by his disguise, fails miserably. But he is determined to grab a second chance and find the Scepter of the Hamster of Darkness, before his evil Uncle Lapin. The Scepter will give immense power to its holder. If Lapin gets hold of it, he will be unstoppable. Accompanied by his faithful servant Abe, a sarcastic turtle, and Meg, a martial arts expert skunk, he sets of on an epic and initiatory quest.

The Emoji Movie (2017)

Hidden inside a smartphone, the bustling city of Textopolis is home to all emojis. Each emoji has only one facial expression, except for Gene, an exuberant emoji with multiple expressions. Determined to become “normal” like the other emojis, Gene enlists the help of his best friend Hi-5 and a notorious code breaker called Jailbreak. During their travels through the other apps, the three emojis discover a great danger that could threaten their phone’s very existence.

 

Viewers are advised to bring mosquito-repellent, as well as a throw or blanket to spread on the ground.
