Audio Description Workshop 🎙️✨
The Athens Children’s Film Festival invites children aged 10-12 to a special introductory workshop on audio description, which is a fundamental tool that makes audiovisual experiences accessible to people with visual impairments.
The workshop is designed so that children collaborate, observe the world around them from a different perspective, and open the conversation about inclusion, accessibility, and the power of creating together.
And the best part? The film will… get their voices!
At the end of the workshop, children will record their own audio description of a film from this year’s ATHICFF program.
And we don’t stop there!
Through carefully curated audio commentary, the “invisible” information of an image is transformed into speech, allowing the viewer to fully experience the viewing experience.
The workshop, accessible to all, is implemented by specialized instructors in the field of audio description, with technical support from a professional studio and guidance from a person with visual impairment.
The workshop consists of 4 meetings of 2 hours each, to be held during September-October 2026.
