Mister Paper cuts and pastes the world together exactly as he likes. He lives in a paper house surrounded by a paper landscape. His only companion is a cat, but thanks to his scissors and childlike imagination, he is never alone. For every situation, Mister Paper creates a solution by cutting or pasting something new. He cuts out a bottle when he is thirsty and an apple when he is hungry. Or he cuts out a cow so that he can get milk for the cat. And when the cat does not feel like playing, he cuts out a dog to take for a walk. Through his adventures, the world of children is brought to life in a playful and imaginative way: a world rooted in reality, where anything is possible.
The series “Mister Paper” is a greek-belgian co-production (Neda Film and A Private View Media) with ERT as a co-producer, marking the first international co-production of an animated children’s series in Greece.
Based on the books by Elvis Peeters and Gerda Dendooven, the series was created using the cut-out stop-motion technique, in which cardboard characters and sets are moved frame by frame to produce a 2.5D effect that reflects the aesthetic of the books’ illustrations.
A production by A Private View Media, in co-production with Neda Film.
In co-production with ERT and with the support of the Hellenic Center for Cinema, Audiovisual Media, and Creativity (EKKOMED).
