This is the story of Juozapas, a very special boy who has a big secret. His heart is protected by a glass dome and thick armor. In the small town where they live, his parents protect him from the sharpness of human relationships. Juozapas avoids interaction with children; the center of his world is an old, deserted manor house and the insects he is raising there. This is where he finds peace in solitude. At the manor, he has built a Bug Hotel and takes care of its residents: woodlice, cockroaches, crickets and butterflies. His peace is disturbed when same age old girl Rugilė moves to the town. After sharing various experiences, they gradually become friends. However, Juozapas will have to “hatch” from the cocoon wrapped in his parents’ love – summer is over and it is time to go back to school as for until now he had been taught by a teacher coming home.  It is hard for Juozapas’s classmates to accept and understand him, and the fact that he is different. Each day at school is a huge ordeal for Juozapas. He avoids the children. Normal relationships between children are too much for him. Juozapas’s open heart reacts painfully to all the bullying and harassment.  While protecting his world – the Bug Hotel – from the brutality of the other children, and protecting his friend Rugile from drowning in the river Juozapas has an attack and finds himself in the hospital. Rugilė takes care of the residents of the Bug Hotel while Juozapas recovers. Juozapas’s classmates and the other children understand their mistakes – the consequences of teasing and bullying. To apologize, they hold a welcome back party for their superhero – Juozapas, the owner of the Bug Hotel.
