Experiential Educational Workshop for Teens (Ages 13+)

How do we feel when we see a character on screen go through something we’ve experienced ourselves? How can someone else’s story change the way we see our own?

In this reflective, hands-on workshop, cinema becomes a safe and creative space for exploration. Through selected scenes from the Teens’ Picks film program and collaborative, experiential activities, participants will explore emotions, decode relationships, and uncover hidden aspects of themselves.

Films act as mirrors – helping us understand what touches us, what troubles us, and what we may want to change.
Through this process, teens are encouraged to express themselves freely, listen openly, and speak honestly about their feelings.

Goal: To foster self-awareness, strengthen personal voice, and cultivate the art of open dialogue – all within a space of acceptance, respect, and emotional growth.

Design – Facilitation: Denise Nikolakou, Psychotherapist and Head of Cinematherapy, ΕKOMMED

With the support of the Hellenic Film & Audiovisual Center (EKKOMED).
